'Pretty Little Liars' Summer Finale: What's Next?

For those who tuned in to "Pretty Little Liars" last night, what a fun, crazy, dirty little summer finale that was, eh? Those showrunners are so good at the leave-em-guessing cliffhangers! Sadly, we'll have to wait until January (when new episodes premiere) for any sort of resolution, but lucky for us, we will get a tasty treat along the way in the form of a Halloween prequel episode!

MTV News caught up with Ashley Benson and Brendan Robinson recently on set to see what we could dig up about the prequel, as well as what kind of trouble almost-step-sister Kate has in store for Hanna.

"She's going to mix in a lot with my storyline," Ashley told us of Kate's storyline. "In the last couple episodes you've seen their interactions and they haven't been too pleasant. Kate has this evil plan to ruin Hanna's life," she said. "She makes her throw up on her mom's wedding dress, she's trying to make my dad not want me anymore. He's already left and found a new family so it would be easier, but yeah, she's trying to make me as miserable as possible."

Given Kate's seemingly not-so-good intentions, it sounded like she might have teamed up with another mischief maker. Is Kate working with A?

"Interesting," Ashley said with a smile. "I've never thought about it! I could definitely see Kate having some sort of connection to A," she admitted, continuing to mull over the suggestion. "Because everything she does is out of evilness, she could be one of the masterminds of that."

Our next order of business was the prequel episode, which Brendan promised will shed light on a bunch of unanswered questions.

"The big storyline that I can’t talk about is going to start in the Halloween episode," he explained. "That episode is completely a prequel to the pilot, so Alison is alive. This episode is all about Sasha [Pieterse], who plays Alison, and we're going to learn a lot more about how she affected people in Rosewood, besides the four girls and that relationship they had before she died.

"Also, Lucas is going to be there, Mona is going to be there, some other people are going to be there, you never know," he teased. "Noel Kahn is in it, there are some major hints that are dropped in that. I know they said it was a stand alone episode, but it really gives you a lot more info about piecing things together."

What will be revealed in the prequel episode? Tell us your theories in the comments or on Twitter!
